Presented in Microsoft Egypt TechWeek

This week is TechWeek in Microsoft Egypt from Sunday till Thursday.  TechWeek is exciting because it brings different customers from different domains together to attend awareness sessions about the different Microsoft Technologies.

There are two tracks, Business Productivity, including Office, Exchange and of course SharePoint and the other was Security and Management, from 9 to 5.

Yesterday I was there, presenting an overview on SharePoint 2010.  Had great audience and lots of questions.  Microsoft Egypt did a great job setting up full gear labs with 8 GB servers that ran the IW Virtual Machine.

It is free to attend, so jump in if you can.

I enjoy it every time.  Looking forward for the next one.

BR,

Mohamed Yehia

Why I love EGYSUG?

EGYSUG-logo1

I love the community, not any community but the SharePoint user community, particularly in Egypt, the Egypt SharePoint User Group.  I love all attendees, regular members, speakers and of course the organizing committee.

 greatcrowed

I am proud to be part of this group and to be around such marvelous people.

With every event in EGYSUG, I am privileged to know new interesting people.  Its an outstanding, splendid and overwhelming experience.   I get the chance to talk to them, assist them, share my expertise with them and most important learn from everybody.  I think this what it’s all about, about sharing and learning from others.

All this was yesterday, in our launch SP2010 Launch party.  After the introduction by Kailash, Ayman El Hattab presented the new cool Visual Studio tools for SharePoint, Shady Korshed dug into Web Parts development in SP 2010, Hesham Mortada gave us a tour around the all new PowerPivot.  After we finally got streaming for the keynote I presented Office Web Apps and Marwan Tarek ended it up with the cool PowerShell cmdlets for SharePoint.  We had also quizzes and giveaways for our attendees.

I really enjoyed the event.  I hope you did too.  See you sooooon!

Thanks for all the attendees and members for sharing your time with us.

Special thanks to the organizing committee.

Please stay tuned to our Facebook group - EGYSUG for photos and updates

Why Should You Attend SharePoint Saturday Arabia?
SPSArabia-logo

I am Speaking

First, because I am speaking :). Although this is a strong reason for you to attend but not the only one.

First of Its Kind

SharePoint Saturday Arabia , (SPS Arabia for short) is first of its kind. It is the first live   SharePoint Saturday targeting but not restricted to SharePoint enthusiasts in Arab region.

Following the same steps as its elder sister SharePoint Saturday EMEA, SPS Arabia will have:

Great Speakers

Just look at the elite list of speakers. They are from all over the globe, from USA, Europe, Saudi, Egypt, Jordan and Australia; MVPs, Developers, Consultants, Enthusiasts, they come in all different flavors in order to share their knowledge, learn new things, mingle with the community and have fun.

Multi-lingual

What's really special about SPS Arabia that it is has two channels, in Arabic and English. So you better keep switching back and forth, in and out of the different chat rooms. Get the best out of it. I am sure that I will do, even when I am moderating. (don’t tell Ayman though).

Participate!

If you are in the Arab region, well even if you are not, if you are into SharePoint, if SharePoint is your business and have no major surgery, do attend. The sessions will be recorded and posted on SPS Arabia and SharePoint4Arabs.com, but the online experience is different.

Sponsors and Giveaways

An indication of how important is the event, here are the sponsors

  • USPJ Academy is offering 20 copies of Introducing SharePoint 2010 journal issue as raffles. This issue, spanning a massive 180 pages, is the first independent book on SharePoint 2010 available on the market.
  • TekPub is providing free monthly subscription to all SharePoint Saturday Arabia attendees.
  • Telerik is offering one premium collection license as a raffle.
